MedMen, an industry leading cannabis management services company and investment firm, and IMN, a premier finance and investment conference organizer, are pleased to announce The Institutional Capital & Cannabis Conference (IC³).
The legal cannabis market is forecast to be the fastest growing industry in America. Annual sales are projected to hit an astounding $80 billion in the next decade. In 2016, the U.S. posted a record $7.1 billion in sales, up from $5.7 billion in 2015 and $4.6 billion the year before. This double digit growth rate is expected to continue in the foreseeable future as more states legalize medical and recreational marijuana.
California, the most populous state in the union and the world’s sixth largest economy, just approved adult use, along with Massachusetts, Nevada and Maine. They joined Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Alaska among states where recreational use is now legal. Florida, North Dakota and Arkansas approved medical use, bringing the total number of states with some form of legal cannabis to 28. Montana, which already had legalized medical marijuana, voted to create a formal program.
In anticipation of further legalization, MedMen and IMN are excited to host the inaugural The Institutional Capital & Cannabis Conference (IC³), the only event of its kind focused on the legal cannabis business as an alternative asset class to achieve portfolio diversification. This event has been created specifically with the needs of the institutional and accredited investor in mind.
IC³ will take place March 28-29, 2017 in San Jose at the Hayes Mansion. The program will provide an in-depth look into the emerging cannabis industry and show attendees how to evaluate investment returns in legal cannabis versus alternative investments.
